Dorothy Floy Hendricks, age 97, a longtime resident of Bartlesville died early Saturday morning, November 4, 2006 at Heritage Villa Care Center in Bartlesville. She was born November 5, 1908 in Coffeyville, KS the daughter of Jesse B. and Della Floy (Buckles) Brewster. She was reared and received her education in Independence, KS graduating from Montgomery High School in 1926. She attended University of Kansas in Lawrence graduating in 1930 with a BS in Business. Dorothy served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 till 1945 in San Diego and while in the Navy she received a degree from Columbia University in New York City. Upon her discharge she moved to Bartlesville and was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. as a secretary in the research department. She and Raymond A Hendricks were married December 10, 1969. After her retirement in 1964 from Phillips Dorothy opened her own secretarial business. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Embroiders' Guild winning many awards for her fine needlework and enjoyed traveling. Dorothy is survived by her loving family and friends, two nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray in September of 1973, two sisters, Mary Zelpha Brewster and Sharlin Sayers, a brother Marvin C. Brewster.
