Dorothy Hundley

Dorothy Madge Hundley, 83, of Nowata, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Wood Manor Nursing Center in Claremore, OK. Dorothy was born April 7, 1927 in Coffeyville, KS daughter of Earl and Audie Bell (Stubblefield) Lindersmith. Dorothy grew up in Nowata County with her nine siblings. She married Doyle E. Hundley in October of 1946 in Independence, KS. Doyle and Dorothy were the proud owners of several businesses through the years, including Doyle's Sports Shop which they operated in Nowata for 15 years. Dorothy also worked and retired from the Nowata County Election Board after 40 plus years of service. Upon her retirement, Dorothy worked at the Caring Center in Nowata helping with the food pantry and clothing donations. Dorothy was a very sweet and lovely lady who enjoyed: fishing, gardening and flowers, sewing, cooking and BINGO. Most of all, Dorothy loved and enjoyed spending time with her family. Dorothy is survived by her children: son, Schuyler Hundley and wife Raedeana of Claremore, OK; son, Doyle Hundley and wife Yvette of Claremore, OK and daughter, Vicki Smith of Claremore, OK; 9 grandchildren: Kacee Nees and husband Robbie, Shane Ingram, Amber Hundley, Luke Hundley and wife Crystal, Schuyler Smith, Tyler Hundley, Sean Ellenburg, Kyle Ellenburg and Josh Ellenburg; 8 great grandchildren; three brothers: Bill Lindersmith, Ralph Lindersmith and Podge Lindersmith; two sisters: Sunny Holland and Jean Seely along with many special friends from the Nowata area. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Doyle E. Hundley; one daughter, Valeri Kim; her parents, Earl and Audie Lindersmith; two brothers: Jack Lindersmith and Earl Lindersmith, Jr.; and two sisters: Doris Jones and Pat Brotherton. Services to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata, OK.
