Dorothy Youngbird

Dorothy (OG) Youngbird was born on September 22, 1938 in Sid (Delaware County), Oklahoma. She departed this life on October 22, 2011 at her home in Kansas, Oklahoma surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born to Johnny and Frona (Cornshucker) Tehee. Dorothy married Thomas Youngbird of Kansas Oklahoma, out of this marriage they brought forth eight children. Dorothy loved watching old game shows, sewing, fishing, ballgames and most of all spending time with family and friends. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Tyio Baptist Church and also Life Tabernacle Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, one sister, one daughter, one son and two grandchildren. She is survived by Jesse Youngbird and his wife Linda, Beverly Robinson and husband Bud, Nancy Mouse, Betty Limpy, Jim Youngbird all of Kansas, Oklahoma, and Cecilia Snell and husband Jamie of Chewey, Oklahoma. Brothers Norm Foreman of Colcord, Oklahoma, Henry Coleman and Martin Coleman of Nicut, Oklahoma, sisters Yvonne Eagle, Sharon Bryant and Shirley Matthews all of Nicut, Oklahoma. Susie Neighbors of Short, Oklahoma nod Kathy Matthews of Muldrow, Oklahoma. Sister in-law Louella Tehee, Special friends James Blair, that she considered a brother, Geneva Chewey and Ella Mae Snell. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Jay, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2011 at the Kansas High school gymnasium in Kansas, Oklahoma. Officiating will be Brother Fred West, Reverend Jeremiah Garcia. Music will be provided by the Life Tabernacle Singers. Dorothy will be laid to rest at the Clouds Creek Cemetery with Reverend Jess Williams officiating.
