Dorsey Drew Holliman, 89, longtime resident of Bartlesville, left her friends and family on May 22, 2014. Born in Dallas, Texas to Francis Drew (Captain, US Army Air Corps who flew in WWI) and Dorothy Von Burrichter, she lost her father at an early age. She attended Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater where she majored in Journalism and became editor of the Redskin Yearbook., concurrently beginning a lifelong affiliation with Pi Beta Phi sorority. Dorsey fell in love with John M. Holliman, Jr. in college and began a marriage of 48 years. John was a Navy pilot, so the young couple did a tour at Pensacola Naval Air Station before mustering out and settling on a small cattle ranch near Copan. While John worked cattle, Dorsey commuted to Bartlesville as editor of the Cities Service Oil Company magazine. When John took a job with H C Price Co., the young couple lived in Louisiana and Texas before returning to Bartlesville in 1967. During those years, Dorsey worked as a professional fashion model. Dorsey thrived on an active community and social life through Service League of Bartlesville, Sewing Club, Bible Study Club and Bridge Club. She was the organizer and kept everyone on schedule. The Hollimans were active members of Hillcrest Country Club, where John was President in 1989 and Dorsey could often been seen in her later years having dinner with a friend. Dorsey was preceded in death by her husband, John (1994), and her youngest son, Drew (1958). She is survived by her son, Jock, 60, who resides in Phoenix and her grandsons, Hunter, 30, and Leighton, 28. Dorsey gave new meaning to the term "social grace". She possessed a brilliant mind, a strong will and a very kind heart. She was a wonderful mother and friend. In her last days, she taught us the meaning of personal dignity and strength. She now rests peacefully with Our Heavenly Father. Dorsey, We Love You All There Is!
