A memorial service for Dortha Darlene "Hawk" Mizer will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2011, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 707 Fresno, Coffeyville, Kansas, with Marvin Downing officiating. Dortha Mizer was born September 19, 1943, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Leslie and Dortha (Waggoner) Hawk. She died Monday, November 7, 2011, at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville Kansas. She was 68 years old. Dortha attended school in Enid and graduated from Wann High School in 1961. On May 15, 1965 she married Sheridan (Mike) Mizer in Wann, Oklahoma. She worked several jobs and then started her life long profession of raising her family. She was very family oriented and loved taking care of her husband, children, and later grandchildren. Dortha enjoyed traveling and seeing different places. Her friends meant a lot to her and she truly enjoyed spending time with them. Above all her grandchildren and children and family brought her the most joy. She will be missed by all who knew her. Preceding Mrs. Mizer in death are her parents Leslie and Dortha Hawk, and her husband Mike Mizer. Survivors include her daughter Michelle Canada and husband Tony, of Coffeyville, Kansas, a son Rick Mizer and wife Tanya Michelle, of South Coffeyville, four grandchildren, Nastacia and Callista Canada, Ariel and Danyel Yeoman, two sisters Carolyn Conley, and Bobbie George and her husband Dale, all of Wann, many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
