Dorvin Prather

Luginbuel Funeral Home of Vinita, 918-256-5555 --Dorvin Robert Prather ( Rev. Bob Prather) was born on April 13, 1926 to Robert Daniel Prather and Mable B. Houchens Prather. He grew up and went to school in Grove, Oklahoma. He later served in the Army Air Force during World War II. On July 1, 1946Dorvin Robert Prather married Sula Nadiene Williard in Oswego, Kansas. Dorvin Robert Prather and his wife Nadiene Prather were in the ministry for about 57 years. They pastored in Catoosa, Oklahoma, Chelsea, Oklahoma and Vinita, Oklahoma. He loved preaching, singing, playing his guitar, and visiting his church members. Dorvin Robert Prather went home to his Heavenly Father and to reunite with his family members in heaven on Thursday, September 4, 2014. Dorvin Robert Prather had three loving children, Robert Dean Prather and his wife Barbara, Janice Voris and husband Roger, Michael Lee Prather and daughter in law Frances Prather. He is also survived by three sisters, Juanita Porter, Wanda and husband Ron Davis, Judy and husband Tom Middaugh, two brothers, Ronnie Prather and wife Zella, Melvin Prather and wife Judy, Dorvin is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and loved them all. ` He was preced in death by his loving wife, Sula Nadiene Prather, his father, Robert Daniel Prather, his mother Mable B (Houchens) Prather and a very special grandson, Christopher Donnie Prather and granddaughter Jazzlynn Rose Marie Smith. He left a great legacy in the Prather family as a great loving man of God and he will always be remembered. Funeral services for Dorvin Robert Prather will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita, Oklahoma. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday September 3, 2014 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Luginbuel Funeral Home, Vinita, Oklahoma.
