Art Miller, 68-year-old lifetime South Coffeyville and Wann area resident, passed away Monday, May 24, 2010 at his home. Douglas M. "Art" Miller was born April 28, 1942 in Estella, Oklahoma to Oce Miller and Frances Bloomfield-Miller. Mr. Miller grew up and attended grade school in Lenapah and later graduated from high school in Ochelata. Mr. Miller served his country in the United States Army for three years before returning home. He was truly a Cowboy that took pride in his ranching work and lifestyle. On June 21, 2003 Mr. Miller married Marcia Thomison-Martin, she survives of the home. Additional survivors include a daughter, Michelle Miller-Renfroe and husband Pat of Nowata; four sons, Waylon "Bub" Miller and wife Sarah of Carthage, Missouri, Tom Miller and wife Nicki of Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, Jim Martin and wife Nancy of Wann, and Justin Martin of Wann; a brother, Donald "Donnie" Miller and wife Linda of Wann; grandchildren, Montgomery Dodson of Stillwater, Heath Renfroe of Nowata, Hannah, Seth, Shem, and Hope Miller of Carthage, Luke and Caleb Miller of Pauls Valley, Dustin Conner and wife Tina of Ochelata, Jarrett Conner of Ochelata, Cody Martin and Jessica Martin of Wann; great-grandchildren, Katlyn and Dalton of Ochelata; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, by one brother, Oce "Jr." Miller, by two sisters, Geraleen Lowry and Vivian Lester; and by one grandchild, Montana Dodson. Funeral services for Mr. Miller will be held at 10:00a.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the Riding for the Brand Church in Wann with Pastor Jimmy Harrington officiating. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Art's name be made to the Riding for the Brand Church, Box 147, Wann, Oklahoma 74083.
