Dovie L. Miller, age 89, a longtime resident of Dewey OK died Friday morning, November 16, 2007 at her residence. She was born May 29, 1918 in Booneville, Mississippi the daughter of Walter Pippin and Kelli Whitney Pippin. She was reared and received her formal education in Water Valley, MS where she and Danny M. Miller were married on January 9, 1937. They moved to Oklahoma City and worked at Tinker Air Force Base during WW11, and 1945 they moved to Dewey and made their home until 1990. Dovie moved to Golden, Missouri living in the lake area until 2001 when she retuned to Dewey. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ and the Royal Neighbors and enjoyed sewing, gardening and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Miller survived by one son and daughter in law, Danny and Judy miller of Dewey, four grand children, Bobby Miller, Karen Farmer, Travis Miller and Tina Keever four great grand children, Shelia Miller, Sadie Parker, Christine Parker, Trea Keever, one sister, Marie Castleberry of Memphis, TN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Danny in 1986, a son, Tommie Miller and daughter Louise, two brothers and a sister. Funeral services for Mrs. Miller will be Tuesday November 20 at 10:00 a.m. in the Dewey Church of Christ with Rev. Robert Hamm officiating with interment to follow in the Dewey Cemetery, under the direction of the Neekamp - Luginbuel Funeral Home.
