Dovie Rogers

Dovie "Aunt Ree" Marie Rogers , age 87, a longtime Vinita resident died Saturday October 3, 2009 at Rosewood Terrace Nursing Home in Vinita. She was born July 3, 1922 in Harrison, Arkansas the daughter of James N. Thompson, and Nerva Alice Watson Rogers. The family moved to Vinita where she was raised and educated. She and Lee Rogers were united in marriage on June 3, 1954 in Claremore. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Forth Street Mission Pentecostal Church. She was a prayer warrior and loved her Church work and cooking baking watching cooking shows on television, and caring for family. Marie is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by her husband Lee in January of 1993, also five sisters and four brothers. Graveside services will be Thursday October 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita with Ona Morgan officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home in Vinita. Online condolences may be left at honoringmemories.com.
