Dr. Harold L. Williams passed from this life Sunday, May 27, 2012 in Nowata, Oklahoma. He was born September 17, 1920, in rural Rogers County, to Thomas Jefferson and Bessie (McVicker) Williams. He attended the White Methodist Church in Winganon, Oklahoma. Dr. Williams attended and graduated from Alluwe High School. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University where he graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1966. After graduation, Dr. Williams worked for Dr. Alter in Coffeyville, Kansas before moving to Nowata in 1970, where he operated the Nowata Animal Hospital. On February 18, 1983 he married Marie Bard in Miami, Oklahoma. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his garden. Dr. Williams was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a very kind man that will be remembered and missed by many. Preceding Dr. Williams in death are his parents Thomas and Bessie Williams, a step son Terry Harvey, two brothers, Duane and Tom Williams, and three step grandchildren. Dr. Williams is survived by his wife Marie, two step sons Ronald Harvey, of Vinita, Oklahoma, and Floyd Harvey, of McAlester, Oklahoma, a nephew, Mike Williams, of Nowata, a great niece, Sherry Campbell, and two great nephews, Kevin, and Brian Williams, many other relatives and a host of friends. The family suggests donations to the First Church of God, of Nowata, or the organization of your choice.
