Dwain Monroe Mosby, 71, of Langley, Oklahoma died at 1:52 a.m., Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Integris Grove General Hospital. Dwain was born July 27, 1937 in Grove, Oklahoma to Lester Monroe and Viola Jenny (Wasmer) Mosby. He had been a truck driver for several years driving for various companies including the cement plant and Spikes Commodities. Dwain was also a handyman and he enjoyed working on cars and lawnmowers. On December 18, 1981, Dwain married Carrie Marie McQuillan at Miami, Oklahoma. They lived for a time in Moscow, Kansas near Liberal. They returned to the Grove and Jay area in 1999. Dwain was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Zelma Mosby. Survivors include four daughters, Leona May, Angela Marie, Marcida Ann, and Viola Marie; one brother, Raymond Mosby of New Mexico; two sisters, Dorothy May Downing of Jay and Patsy Ann Anderson of Salina, Kansas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place according to Dwain's wishes, and no public services are planned at this time. Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home of Grove, Oklahoma is in charge of arrangements.
