Funeral services for Edgar Clyde Higeons are 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Talala with Rev. Lester Orwig officiating. Edgar Clyde Higeons, 93, of Wellington, Kansas passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Wellington, Kansas. He was born January 1, 1920 in Talala to Lola (Bray) and Clyde Roswell Higeons. He was a graduate of Talala High School. On October 28, 1951 Edgar married the love of his life Loeta Jane Killion in Wichita, Kansas. They made their home there where he worked for Boeing Aircraft and the Aviation industries as an Electronics technician. He was a veteran serving in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He and Loeta loved to travel and went to and visited many countries around the world. After almost 40 years in Wichita a tornado destroyed their home and the relocated to Wellington, Kansas where they remained the remainder of their lives. Edgar was a very kind and helpful man. He never met a stranger and would help anyone that was in need. He loved his family and especially enjoyed time with his grandchildren and great grandson. Edgar is survived by three children, Clyde Henry Higeons and wife Karen of Claremore, Robert Howard Higeons and wife Dana of Broken Arrow, Kenneth Ray Higeons of Wellington, Kansas; four brothers, Carl Higeons, Jim Higeons, Bill Higeons, Joe Higeons; three sisters, Mary Killion, Clementine Meyers, Helen Peacock; four grandchildren, Tim Higeons, Casie Cadieux and husband Chet, Angela Higeons, Bradley Higeons and one great grandson, Jacob Higeons. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Loeta Jane (Killion) Higeons and a brother, Robert Chester Higeons.
