Edith Blanch Ross, 88-year-old, life long Lenapah resident, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2009 at Windsor Place Nursing Center in Coffeyville, KS. Mrs. Ross was born in Lenapah, Ok on November 5, 1920 the daughter of Murry Smith and Geneva Grubbs Smith. She was raised and educated in Lenapah and attended school at Douglas High School. Mrs. Ross stayed at home and raised her children while they were young. Then she worked for the Ammunition Plant in Parsons, Kansas for several years before working for Emerson Electric in Independence, Ks until her retirement. Mrs. Ross was a life time member of the St. Paul Baptist Church in Lenapah. She had a love for music and spending time with her family. Mrs. Ross is survived by her husband Quincey S. Ross of Coffeyville, Ks, three daughters Louise Paris of Denver, Co, Fern McDaniel of Coffeyville, Ks and Patricia McCall and her husband Matt of Gilbert, AZ, Nine Grandchildren, Seven Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Wilford Smith and Elmer Smith. Funeral services for Mrs. Ross will be held at 10:00a.m., Tuesday, October 27, 2009 in the Goose Neck Cemetery east of Lenapah.
