Edna Matilda Britten was born in Nottinghamshire, England, December 25, 1923. She was the daughter of the late John Henry Britten and Anne (Cook) Britten. She lived with her daughter at Monkey Island, Oklahoma where she died, October 11, 2010 at the age of 86 years. She immigrated to Canada in 1956 and later immigrated to the United States where she created and founded several businesses, opening her own beauty shop in Jamestown, New York. She also opened several wedding and bridal boutiques in Canada and the USA, and later began pursuing her passion and dream with the opening of Western Impressions, a Native American art gallery and jewelry store in Kissimmee, Florida for over 15 years. She is survived by one sister, Eunice Cotterill, British Columbia, Canada; two brothers, Jack Britten, Nottinghamshire, England and Fred Britten of Ontario, Canada. She is survived by her children, Glenice Demers, Ontario, Canada, Allen Keeling, Montreal, Canada, Paul Keeling, British Columbia, Canada; Marion Grom and David Young, Monkey Island, Oklahoma; Janice Scelp, Haines City, Florida; Steven Grom, Rogers, Arkansas. She has 14 grand children and 19 great grand children. They include: 8 grand children and 6 great grand children living in the United States; 6 grand children and 13 great grand children living in Canada. The family will hold private services in the United States, Canada and England. It is the wish of the family that Memorial donations may be sent to BRHC Foundation, PO Box 1207, Miami, OK 74355 designated to Integris Regency Hospice.
