Edna LaVerne Kenyon passed away Tuesday March 12, 2013. She was born July 13, 1930 in Wittenberg, Texas later known as Phillips, TX to Jessie Thomas and D. Lorene (Isbell) Hall. She married Jack Kenyon from Alluwe, OK on December 12, 1944 who gave her the nickname "Chick" as most of her friends knew her as. Her husband worked on many Power Plants which allowed the family to either see or live in most of the USA. They semi-retired in White Oak, OK naming their property "Kenyon Korner" which hosted many Flea-Marts during the 80's. She was a dedicated wife, homemaker and helpmate. Upon the passing of her husband she relocated to Vinita, OK. She enjoyed square dancing with her family, Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite activities with Jack, The Order of The Eastern Star, family picnics, boating/water skiing, flea markets, getting together for pitch games, grandchildren, great grandchildren and she was also the Historian and Storyteller of the family. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband of 49 years, Jack J. Kenyon, Sr. a sister, Oleta Willhite, brother-in-law, Billy Joe Willhite, two sister-in-laws, Genevieve Hall of MN, Bess 'Billy' Doerflinger of Vinita, a very special daughter-in-law, Rosalind Kenyon of MO, niece Sandra Warden Simmons of Vinita. She is survived by a special friend, C.R. (Zip) Hall of Vinita and her two children, Jack J. Kenyon, Jr. of St. Joseph, MO. and daughter, Linda Prince Hicks and husband Larry of Vinita, OK. One brother, Clint Lee Hall and Joan of Edna, MN. Her four grandchildren, Kimberly A. Prince of Bernice, OK, Brian K. Prince and wife Samantha of Vinita, OK. Michelle 'Mia' Kenyon and special friend Joe Frank of Iowa City, IA, Daniel J. Kenyon and wife Teresa of Gower, MO. "special grandchildren," Scott Hicks, Lawton Hicks and wife Amanda of Vinita, OK. Great Grandchildren Kylea and Kaleb Campbell, Alexander, Zachary and Luke Prince, Frieda Kenyon Brown and Henry Frank, Jack Lee Kenyon, Emalee and Natalee Hicks, Chance and Payton Hicks. Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews she loved so much and was so proud to call them hers. Memorial services for the friends and family will be held at the Kenyon residence at 3pm Saturday, March 30, 2013. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories.com.
