Funeral services for Edna Elaine Spray are Friday, 2:00 P.M., October 8, 2013 with Pastor Dean Bridges officiating. Interment will follow at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.honoringmemories.com. Edna Elaine Spray, 98, of Nowata, passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013. She was born May 28, 1915 in Chelsea to Edna (Dicks) and Oliver Harvey Hobbs. Elaine grew up in rural Nowata County and attended Bug Scuffle School. After graduation, she attended Northeastern State Teachers' College in Tahlequah, OK. Upon graduating, Elaine began teaching school at England Country School in Nowata County. She married Jack Inman on December 24, 1937 at Nowata. Jack preceded her in death on April 27, 1952. Elaine continued running the family dairy for a while, before taking a job with the Department of Human Services, and worked there until her retirement. She married William Denver "Bill" Spray on April 19, 1961 at Miami, OK. Bill preceded her in death February 7, 1986. Elaine was a lifelong Nowata County resident and had attended First Christian Church. She enjoyed spending time at the Nowata Senior Citizens Center, working in her garden, sewing and being with her family and friends. Elaine is survived by a son, Jack Inman and wife Betty of Nowata; a daughter, Sue Inman of Nowata; a step-son, Clark Spray and wife Patsy of Enid; a sister, Georgalee Sawyer and husband John of Bartlesville, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, and a step granddaughter.
