Edwin Rex Miller, age 92, died on Tuesday September 8, 2009 at the Monroe Manor in Jay, Oklahoma. The son of Everett M. and Beva L. (Griffith) Miller was born on October 28, 1916 in Tunis, Missouri. Edwin proudly served in the Army during WWII. He received both a Purple Heart and a Bronze star for his service. Until retirement, Edwin was employed by Delaware County in the County Road Maintenance department. He was a great fisherman, enjoyed coon hunting and also was a farmer. Edwin was a 50 year member of the American Legion and a 90 year resident of Delaware County. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters Patricia A. Vogel and Elizabeth M. Miller. He is survived by three nieces Beva Vogel, Dorothy Vogel, Dolores Schaumburg and her husband Don, one nephew John E. Vogel and his wife Michelle, grand-nephew Grant Goodyear and his wife Sarah, great-nieces Sarah, Hannah and Rachael Vogel, dear friends, neighbors and especially Joel and Jeannie Dearington. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Thursday September 10, 2009 at the Mount Hermon Cemetery where the Grove Veterans Ritual Team will provide full military honors.
