Effie Lorene (Marrs) French, 80, passed away in Nowata, Oklahoma, on January 29, 2013. She was born on February 12, 1932 near Delaware, Oklahoma to Ed and Jennie (Kirk) Marrs. She attended school at Delaware. Lorene married Burl French on January 12, 1951, at Bentonville, Arkansas. They lived near Chelsea, Oklahoma for several years, where Burl worked for an oil company. They moved to Nowata in the late 1960's. Lorene spent her life caring for and about her family. Lorene is survived by two sons, Herbert and wife Joan, of Coffeyville, Kansas and Ronnie French of Nowata; six grandchildren, Ronald L. Bobo, Erin Kelly, Josh Wooten, Justin French, Shawnesta Hill, and Jordan Bowline; twelve great grandchildren, Kiley Bobo, Tyler Bobo, Donavon Kelly, Rowen Kelly, Shannon Grace Kelly, Cameron Kelly, Elizabeth Wooten, Jacob French, Bre'lynn French, Brent Hill, R.J. Hill, and Xeric Hill; a brother, Bob Marrs and wife Betty of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Geneva Marrs of South Daytona, Florida, Virginia Temple of Salem, Utah and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Burl; her daughter, Carol Jane French; her son, Gerald French, her parents; six brothers, Charlie Burdine, Bill Burdine, Guy Marrs, Roy Marrs, Gene Marrs, Charles Marrs; three sisters, Goldie Fern Burdine, Ollie Lee Parrett, and Madeleine Corle. Casket bearers for Lorene are Justin French, Joshua Wooten, Jordan Bowline, Wesley Hill, Robbie Corle, H.C. Corle, and Shane French. A graveside service for Lorene will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 at Ball Cemetery with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Benjamin Funeral Service.
