Arnold Moore & Neekamp - Eleanor "Ellie" A. Capps, age 79 and resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away at home in her favorite chair and was taken to Jane Phillips Hospital where she was pronounced deceased on Thursday, April 7, 2016. Eleanor Anne Coffield was born on July 16, 1936 in Davenport, Iowa. She was the daughter of Hugh John Coffield and Irma Junietta (Pehrson) Coffield. After receiving her early education in Davenport, Iowa, she graduated with her Sr. High class of 1954. She then attended the University of Iowa for three years where she received her "Mrs." Degree. In July of 1956, Ellie and Ronald L. Capps were united in marriage in Davenport, Iowa. From 1956-1974, the family lived in Coffeyville, Kansas. They then lived in Bartlesville from 1974-1984 before moving to Severna Park, Maryland in 1984, living there until 1989. The family then moved back to Bartlesville where they have continued their residence until the present time. Ellie was a member of St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church, in Bartlesville, as well as a member of the Women's Golf Association and Rotary Anns. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed many things, such as crossword puzzles, reading, golf, and bowling. She also enjoyed working the DVR and watching Mass on T.V. However, the thing she enjoyed most of all was being with her family and being a "Nana". She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Jack Coffield. She is survived by her husband Ron and children, Steve and Fran Capps of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Tim and Lisa Capps of Severna Park, Maryland, Laurie and Bobby Witt of Colleyville, Texas, Lisa A. Capps of Bartlesville, and Darren and Rachelle Capps of Virginia Beach, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Nicole and James Russell, Sarah Capps, Kianna Witt, Alicia Capps, Julie Capps, Shaley Witt, James Capps and Bobby Witt, Jr.; and her sister Patty and Cecil Ashford. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Ellie's name may be sent to St. John School Building Program, 121 W. 8th St., Bartlesville, OK 74003. Visitation will be on Monday, April 11 at Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home chapel, 710 Dewey Ave. starting at 9:00 AM. A Rosary will be said on Monday at 7:00 PM. The family will greet friends prior to the Rosary from 6-7:00 PM in the funeral home. Deacon Dan Pickett will lead the Rosary. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 12, in the St. John Before the Latin Gate Catholic Church. Father Michael Pratt will be the celebrant. Interment will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery.
