Eleanor M. Turman, 106, of Bartlesville, OK passed away Sunday evening, October 9, 2022, at Bartlesville Health and Rehab Community.
Ellie was born February 11, 1916, at Bartlesville to Homer and Minnie Ella (Holman) Fugate. Her father, Homer, was a driller, so home was wherever the work was and Ellie lived in several locations, including Glenpool and Tulsa, Oklahoma, as well as Paris and Angleton, Texas. While in Angleton, she was a Brazoria County Sheriff’s Deputy and bailiff for the court. While living in Tulsa, Ellie worked for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft and because of her skills, was sent to California to do similar work. She came back to the Bartlesville area, almost 40 years ago. Ellie was of the Methodist faith and a supporter of Boston Avenue Methodist Church, Tulsa. She belonged to several organizations, including the 55+ Activity Center, the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries and Salvation Army. Among other activities, Ellie loved to square dance.
Ellie is survived by her two nephews, Terry Postrach and his wife, Beverly of Nowata, OK and Danny Postrach of Ramona, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Burl Turman and by two sisters, Dorothy Anny Postrach and Delores Dobson.
Funeral services will be 10am, Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Bartlesville’s White Rose Cemetery, under the direction of Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home.
