Elizabeth (Webber) "Betty" Schutz, longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, in the Jane Phillips Medical Center, Bartlesville. Elizabeth was born on September 5, 1916 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was the daughter of James E. Webber, Sr. and Mabel Irene (Sloan) Webber. She was raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she received her early education, graduating with the Senior Class of 1934. She furthered her education by attending classes at Wisconsin University and Ohio State University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. On February 2, 1939, Betty and Robert Wolfe, Sr. were married in West Virginia and they made their home in Canton, Ohio. One son, Robert Wolfe, Jr. was born to this union. Mr. Wolfe, Sr. was a member of the U.S. Army Air Corps. where he attained the rank of Lieutenant. He was killed in the line of duty shortly after Pearl Harbor. In April of 1945, Betty married Howard Schutz and they made their home in Beaver, Pennsylvania. Four children were born to this union, Kathryn, Evan, William and David. They moved to Bartlesville in 1956 and since that time Betty had continued to make her home there. She was employed with Wal-Mart, retiring in 1985. Betty loved her family very much and she will be dearly missed. She also had a love for animals. Her dog, Matt, who was an Australian Shepherd, and her white cat, Tommy, also brought great joy into her life. Betty is survived by her children, Robert Wolfe, Jr. and his wife, Judy, of Yorktown, New York, Katherine Schutz of Bartlesville, Evan Schutz of Bartlesville, William Schutz of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and David S. Schutz and his wife, Christine, of Moore, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
