Ella B. George, 83 year-old lifetime Ketchum resident, died Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at the St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa. She was born July 7, 1924 in Pensacola, Oklahoma to Frank and Bessie (Nix) Brixey. Ella married Fred W. George on August 6, 1945 in Texas; he preceded her in death on July 6, 2000. They lived in the Ketchum area all their lives. Ella and Fred owned and operated the Port Tyler Marina during the 1970's, they also had a dairy farm, also they owned and operated a logging company and lumber yard, they worked together in all their endeavors. Ella was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Langley, she loved working in her yard, raising vegetables in her garden, but her biggest joy was spending time with her family and friends. The family includes; her children, Jim George and wife Sherry of Claremore, Phyllis George and her companion Gene Bertolotto, an adopted son, Wade Silzer and wife Paula; one brother Lonnie Brixey and wife Reva of Vinita, sisters, Edna Gay of Pryor, Ruth Darnell of California, Margaret Minson and husband Bill of South Dakota, Alberta Cohrs and husband Dale of Piedmont, Roberta Roberts and husband Dick of Enid, a sister in-law Betty Brixey of Pensacola,there are five grandchildren, Jason George and wife Faline of Owasso, Daniel George and wife Crystal of Disney, Melisa George of Ketchum, Tina Bertolotto of Dallas, Texas, and Cody Sanders of Altamont, Illinois, great-grandchildren, Waylon, Amber, Stacy and Christina, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding her in death were her husband, parents, an infant son Gary, and a brother Howard Brixey. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Friday evening at the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Chapel in Langley. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Langley, with Pastor Kim Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow at the Ghormley Cemetery at Pensacola. Casket bearers will Tony Brixey, J. R. Morrison, Daniel George, Jason George, John Kerr, Nick Morrison, and Justin Morrison.
