Eloise Williams

September 11, 1918 — December 12, 2010

Eloise Jeanette Schellstede, born September 11, 1918 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, peacefully left our presence December 12, 2010. Eloise was preceded in death by her mother and father, Carrol and Delmar Rees, her sister, Wilma, her husbands: John E. Schellstede and Jim Williams, and her sons: John Robert Schellstede and Richard Schellstede. Eloise is survived by her grandchildren; David Schellstede, of Houston, Texas, Doug Schellstede of Sante Fe, New Mexico, and Donna Schellstede of Ft. Worth, Texas. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren and her niece, Caroline Morgan, and nephew, Franklin Morgan, her loyal friend, Nolie Calton. She is remembered fondly by her daughter-in-law, Trudy Schellstede of Roswell, New Mexico, and her very dear friend, Jeannine Felczak of Ft. Worth, Texas. Eloise was a very accomplished woman. She graduated from the University of Tulsa and married John E. Schellstede. Together, they ran a successful independent insurance agency. She was also published in various books, journals, and magazines such as Southwest Art. As the president of the Green Country Art Association, she instituted many gallery showings featuring artists, locally and nationally. She was an active associate of the Gilgrease Museum in Tulsa. Eloise had galleries in Ft.Worth, Texas, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Langley, Oklahoma. What a joy to remember a woman who inspired so many. She loved every moment of every day and she gave inspiration to those who knew and loved her. One of her favorite presentations was related to a religious mural of the 23rd psalm. Those verses personify Eloise. In lieu of flowers, please contribute a memorial contribution to a museum or art project of your choice. Graveside services will be held at Memorial Park in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Thursday December 16, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplin Kevin Webster officiating. Online condolences may be made at www.honoringmemories. Com.
