Elsie Morris

June 20, 1924 — November 12, 2011

Elsie June Morris, 87, resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma passed away November 12, 2011 at her sister's home in Dewey surrounded by her family. She was born June 20, 1924 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Clarance Albert and Hazel Lorene (Wooten) Levingston. Elsie received her education in Bartlesville. She attended Horace Mann Elementary and completed the tenth grade at the Bartlesville Junior-Senior High School. Elsie was married to Elmer Samuel Morris on July 2, 1954 in Bartlesville. They lived in several different places throughout Oklahoma, Utah and Michigan. They eventually settled down and established their home in the Dewey/Bartlesville area. They belonged to the LDS- Church of the Latter Day Saints. Family was very important to Elsie. Though she never had any children of her own, Elsie loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Her neighbors were also very important to her, she made them part of her family. She was a very loving and caring woman; she will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Morris; parents; sisters, Nancy Helen Wells, Wilma Alvena Levingston, Lena Winifred Reed and Alice Lorene Davie and brothers, David Andrew Levingston and Wilbur Ellis Levingston. Elsie is survived by her brother, C. Albert Levingston, Jr. of Utah; sisters, Alberta Mary Sutton of Iowa, Anna Belle Snow of Dewey, Lavona Mae Porter of Utah and Shirley Joan Haight of Utah; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
