Emmalu Manuel

November 25, 1923 — January 4, 2008

Emmalu D. Manuel, age 84, a longtime resident of Bartlesville died early Friday morning, January 4, 2008 at Heritage Villa Care Center. She was born November 25, 1923 in Tulsa, Oklahoma the daughter of William Edward Davis and Vern Chaney Davis. Emmalu and Leroy H. Manuel were united in marriage on June 6, 1942 at Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas. After his discharge from the Army the family moved to Stillwater, OK where Leroy finished his education and moved to Bartlesville in 1947 when he was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. She was a homemaker and a member of the Disciples Christian Church for over forty years where she was active in Sunday School and the Disciples Women's Ministries. She enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Sunset Country Club, and also boating, swimming, sewing, knitting, baking and playing bridge with her bridge club and decorated and catered wedding cakes, but mostly she enjoyed spending time with family and her grand daughter. Mrs. Manuel leaves behind one son: Mark Manuel of Bartlesville, a grand daughter: Michelle Grayson three great grand children: Troy Martin, Mark Martin, and Dillon Grayson. She was preceded in death by her husband Leroy in January of 2006, one son Robert H. Manuel, a grand daughter, her parents and one brother. Funeral services will be Wednesday January 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Disciples Christian Church with Rev. Bill Inglish officiating with interment to follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Neekamp -Luginbuel Funeral Home.
