Ernest Dewees

October 6, 1927 — December 10, 2011

Ernest Jim Dewees, 84 year old Vinita resident died Saturday December 10, 2011 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. He was born Sentinel, Oklahoma the son of Ernest Jim Dewees and Mable Mc Natt Dewees. He was raised and graduated high school in EL Monte, California then moved to Vinita from Pasadena, CA in 1959. He opened Vinita brake and wheel in 1960 and operated it over thirty years. He loved farming, working cattle, deer hunting, boating and fishing and gardening . He enjoyed playing the saxophone and clarinet and loved people, his family and the times spent together. Survivors include his two children Mona Dewees, Vicki Toews and husband Terry, two grand children Leslie Valencia and husband Tony, Bradley Toews one great grand daughter Madisyn Valencia. He was preceded in death by wife, his parents and one sister. Memorial's may be made in Jim's name to the Ketchum Adventist Academy, P. O. Box 429, Langley, OK 74350 Visitation will be Wednesday December 14 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home Funeral home. Funeral services will be Friday December 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ketchum Seventh Day Adventist Church with Elder John Moyer and Pastor Perry Flerchinger officiating with interment to follow in the Ketchum Cemetery under the direction of Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home at Langley.
