Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK 918-786-2261 ~ Ernest Dollarhide, 89 years old was born at Bradyleville, MO, on October 26, 1925. He went to be with the Lord on September 11, 2015 with his family by his side. Ernest is survived by his wife of 53 years, Edna of the home, 8 children, 28 grandchildren, and 37 great-great grandchildren. Ernest was preceded in death by 5 sisters, 2 brothers, his mom, dad and an infant son. Ernest's occupation was a laborer. His favorite sport was coon hunting. He was a fisherman. He enjoyed making and garden and keeping the yard mowed. There was never a weed seen in his garden or yard. Everyone who drove by stopped to admire his garden and yard. He has a grandson from California that he taught to follow in his footsteps as a big hunter. Ernest also has a granddaughter from California who remembers her grandpa as nicknaming her little one. A granddaughter from Jay, remembers getting her nickname from grandpa as Tommie. To them, grandpa was their biggest fan. Ernest was also survived by a host of nephews and nieces; 2 special people, Brenda Morgan and Joe of Jay, OK; and a host of other friends and his dog, Spud whom no one else could control. Ernest will be missed by all those who loved and knew him. Ernest believed living his life as an honest and true man. If he told you something you'd know it was true. He fought his battle with cancer for 2 ½ years, but never complained. We can only hold in our hearts someone loved dearly. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at 2:00 pm at Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, MO.
