Ernest "Ernie" Robert Pica, 76 year old resident of Grove, Oklahoma, passed away on May 25, 2017 at the OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ernie was born on August 12, 1940 in Clairton Pennsylvania. He was one of four children born to Alessandro and Olga (Martinelli) Pica. After graduating high school, Ernie proudly served in the United States Army. He retired with over 20 years of service and was decorated in both the Korean and Vietnam War. Ernie had over 21 years of dedicated service to the United States Postal Service in Topeka, Kansas Ernie and his wife Sheryl would spend their summers in Oklahoma and retired and relocated to Grove, Oklahoma in 2001. He enjoyed fishing on Grand Lake, gardening and attending the Cayuga Mission Church. Together they spent winters at the Paradise South R.V. Park in Mercedes, Texas. Ernie was actively involved in community events. There were very few things that Ernie wasn't involved with; he touched the hearts and lives of many in that community. Ernie enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but most of all spending time with the love of his life, his wife. Ernie is preceded in death by his parents Alessandro and Olga Pica, and two brothers Louis and Annunzio J. "Peck" Pica. He is survived by his wife Sheryl of the home, five sons; Ernie Pica Jr. and his wife Debbie of Salina, Kansas, Mark L. Pica of Tampa, Florida, David M. McKown and his wife Tracy of Olathe, Kansas, Matt T. Pica and his wife Yvette of San Antonio, Texas, Brett G. McKown and his wife Hillary of Hillsboro, Oregon. Two daughters; Dede M. Weber and her husband Mark of Topeka, Kansas and Michel A. Andrews and her husband Paul of Lakeland, Florida, one sister Jean Chiappini of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. Ernie was blessed with fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 9th, 2017 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Grove, in Grove, Oklahoma with Pastor Gary Bishop officiating.
