Erve Sims

Erve Sims, 82 year old Jay area resident passed away peacefully on October 3, 2010 at his home. Erve was born on March 18, 1928 in Row, Oklahoma to Charles Jesse and Gladys (Smith) Sims. He Married Betty Wilkins on June 12, 1959. Erve served in the United States Navy. He spent most of his life working as a truck driver. Erve is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Gladys Sims; one sister, Wanda Bunte; one brother, Charles Sims Jr.; one son, John Sims; and one granddaughter, Natalie Sims. Erve is survived by his wife Betty Sims of the home; one sister, Barbara Mallard and husband Doug of California; three sons, Charles Sims and wife Nancy of California, David Sims and wife Beth of Oregon, and Rich Rhoads and wife Ann of Texas; one daughter, Renee Kilman and husband Steve of Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law, Lorraine Sims; fifteen grandchildren, David and Nathaniel both of California, Katie and Mercedes also both of California, Amy, Scott and Justin all of Oregon, Paul and wife Natasha, Mandy, Nathan, and Hannah all of Oklahoma, and Daniel, Justin, Julie and Damion all of California; three great-grandchildren, Jacob of California, Zach of Texas and Jeren of Oklahoma; and 13 nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at 4:30 at New Hope Baptist Church in Jay, Oklahoma. Rev. Daniel Newton will be officiating.
