Esther Hardesty

Esther Mae Hardesty, 77 year-old resident of Rose, formerly of Welch and Vinita, died Monday January 19, 2009 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Tulsa. She was born April 23, 1931 in Carter Nine, Oklahoma to Radford E. and Meddie Jane (Campbell) Stanley. Esther was married to Walter Floyd Henry who preceded her in death. She remarried on April 15, 2000 to Charlie Hardesty. Esther was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church at Leach, Oklahoma. She enjoyed her family, fishing on the pontoon, cook outs, puzzles, traveling, nature, dancing and going to church. The family includes; her husband Charlie of the home, her children, Roger Dale Henry of Chetopa, Clyde Allen Henry of Welch, Benny Bert Henry of Vinita, Jessie Clay Henry of Chetopa, Eva Faye Henry Wallace of Tulsa, Charles Lee Hardesty of Claremore, Joanna Lynn Williams of Tulsa, Russell Grant Hardesty of Sapulpa, Paul Douglas Hardesty of Parsons, John Christopher Hardesty of Claremore, and Michael Peet Hardesty of Chelsea; sisters, Geneva Coats of Grove and Dolly Gregory of Afton; thirty-eight grandchildren, fifty-four great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Preceding her in death were her first husband, Walter Henry, her parents, a son Martin Henry, a granddaughter Kimberly Wallace, brothers, Marvin, Claude, Earl and Robert Stanley, and one sister, Novie Green. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. The funeral will be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Jim Reeves officiating. Interment will follow at the Welch Cemetery.
