Grove, OK - Ethel Lina Griffin, 90, died early Wednesday morning at Integris Grove General Hospital, Grove, Oklahoma. Ethel was born February 11, 1917 at Row, Oklahoma to Dr. T.W. Linam and Cecil (Leachman) Linam. She married G.R. Griffin in September of 1936 at Miami, Oklahoma. The Griffins lived in several different communities, following Mr. Griffin's job in school administration. While living in Miami, Ethel worked as an LPN at the local hospital. When Mr. Griffin took a job in Ramona, Oklahoma, Ethel went to work for the State. In later years, she was a homemaker who was known for her willingness to help others. In 1970, the Griffins moved from Ramona to Ketchum, Oklahoma, where Mr. Griffin was Delaware County Superintendent. After many years at Ketchum, the couple moved to Grove, six years ago. Ethel was a member of the Vinita Chapter Order of Eastern Star and the Langley First Christian Church. Survivors are her husband of 70 years, G.R. Griffin of the home; three sons, Gary Griffin of Mounds, Oklahoma, Larry Don Griffin of Saudi Arabia and Creel Griffin of Ketchum, Oklahoma; one sister, Faye Sharpneck of Grand Falls, Texas; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers and two sisters. Visitation for Mrs. Griffin will be held 6-8 pm, Friday, June 22, 2007 at Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home in Langley. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, at Langley First Christian Church with interment following in Row Cemetery, Colcord, Oklahoma, under the direction of Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home.
