Ethel Murnan

Ethel "Louise" Murnan, 94-year-old Nowata resident passed away at 11:50p.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at the Nowata Nursing Center. Mrs. Murnan was born April 4, 1916 to W.S. Marler and Susie Hogen-Marler. She was married to Alva L. Murnan on April 16, 1934. They made their home in Nowata County where they farmed and ran a dairy until they retired to live in Nowata. Mrs. Murnan was a great cook and in fact worked in three nursing homes in Nowata as a cook. Mrs. Murnan is survived by two sons, Bobby R. Murnan and wife Monte of Bartelsville and BD "Wayne" Murnan and wife Lu Ann of Bartlesville; by four grandchildren, Kim Lopez, Rick Murnan, Todd Murnan, Lalaina Coppinger; by five great-grandchildren; and by two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Murnan was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Alva; by a daughter, Ila Gene; by three brothers, Gail Marler, Ted Marler, and Victor Marler. Funeral services for Mrs. Murnan will be held at 11:00a.m., Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Benjamin Funeral Service Chapel with Ben Killion officiating. Interment will follow in the Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Benjamin Funeral Service of Nowata.
