Eula Pauline "Diddi" Transue, 89, a resident of Fairland, OK passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at Integris Grove General Hospital. She was born on May 27, 1918 to William Mitchell and Della Mae (Tovey) Gillespie in Nowata County. She married Aaron Transue in November of 1941; he preceded her in death on August 14, 1990. Diddi started working as a seamstress in 1960 at Lee Manufacturing making blue jeans in Cherryvale, KS. She continued her work in sewing factories in California and Texas. She also worked at Danny's Flea Market till around 1998 in Coffeyville. Mrs. Transue was the last surviving child of William and Della. She was preceded in death by her husband Aaron Transue, two sons Charles Ronald Transue, Steve Transue, one grandchild Lisa Medley, her siblings Willie Gillespie, Vernice Palmer, Jessie Donham, Art Gillespie, and Short Gillespie. Survivors include two daughters Cheryl "Sherie" Todd and her husband Jim of Afton, Patsy Beason of Welch, four grandchildren; Rondo, Scott, Chad, Stephanie and one great-grandchild Lindsay Medley. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be Monday, May 12, 2008 at 1:00 PM at the Edna Cemetery in Edna, KS with Reverend Gary Bishop officiating.
