Eva Wiggains French Surrounded by family, Eva Wiggains French, 85, of Grove, Oklahoma, joined her Heavenly Father on Monday, November 22, 2010, in Grove, Oklahoma. Funeral services are set for Saturday, November 27, in Liberal, Kansas. Eva was born on September 9, 1925 at her parent's farm in Hooker, Oklahoma, where she grew up the youngest of ten children. At that same family farm, on November 4, 1944, Eva Wiggains and Donald G. French were united in marriage; the couple recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Shortly after marrying, the couple moved to Liberal, Kansas where they lived and worked for 60 years. Eva was a helpmate to Don, assisting him not only as a housewife but also in operating a dairy and travel trailer rental business. Eva read her Bible daily, taught Sunday school, and always said she loved teaching fifth graders the most. She was a member of the Busy Bee Home Extension Group for 50 years. As the couple's health began to fail, Eva and Don moved to Grove to live with their daughter Joan and son-in-law Chris Ramsey. Eva was preceded in death by two daughters, Annette Marie French and Rena Kay French, and one daughter-in-law, Jaemie Delle French. She is survived by her husband Don, of the home; one son, Leo Jerome "L.J." French, of Liberal, Kansas; one daughter, Joan Ella Ramsey and husband Chris Ramsey, of Grove; one sister, Una Stout, of Elkhart, Kansas; five grandchildren, Jessie French, Tammy (Brandon) Cline, Hunter Ramsey, Nick (Bonnie) Robbins and Ryan (A.J.) Wilhoit; and four great-grandchildren, Emma Cline, Lizebeth Cline, William Cline and Chase Robbins. Eva is also survived by her best friend of 45 years, Lillian Geist and Loree Hale, 50 years. There will be a time of visitation from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services for Mrs. French are 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Western Avenue Church of Christ in Liberal, Kansas with Mr. Ron Davis officiating. Interment will follow at the Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, Oklahoma under the direction of the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove, Oklahoma.
