Eva Mahan

d. January 14, 2012

Eva N. Mahan, 97, of Bartlesville, passed peacefully at home on January 14, 2012. She was born December 7, 1914, in Ravenswood, West Virginia to Earle and Grace Webster. She grew up with her sister and two brothers on a farm near Mechanicsburg, Ohio. Eva had a brief career as a model in New York, City, but had to return to Ohio to care for her mother. She met and wed the love of her life, John E Mahan while in Columbus, Ohio. They stayed in Ohio and Illinois while John completed his doctorate and post doctorate studies in chemistry. They moved to Bartlesville in 1942, when John began working for Phillips Petroleum Company in the Research Division. Eva enjoyed her many friends and neighbors. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was a stay at home mother to sons, James and Lee. Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 71 years, John; her son, Lee, and a sister, Maude Edith Nelson. Survivors include her son, James and wife, Susan, of Lewiston, Idaho; grandson, Mike and wife Krista; great granddaughters Malorie and Lexie of Walla Walla, Washington; grandson, David and wife Sandra; great granddaughter Nicole of Lewiston, Idaho, plus her two brothers, Paul and June Webster and Frank and Marcy Webster and their families of Ohio. There will be no service at her request, and burial will be in the Mahan family plot in Cortland, Ohio next to her husband and son. The family suggest memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville or to a charity of choice.
