Eva Jayne (Carrigan) Morgan, 88 year-old Vinita resident passed away Monday, November 09, 2009 at her home. She was born July 23, 1921 in Miami to James Samuel and Zoie (Garrison) Carrigan. Eva Jayne was married Raymond V. Morgan, he preceded her in death in 1990. She retired from Eastern State Hospital in 1994, where she was an administrative aide. Eva Jayne was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Vinita, a charter member of the Amarantha of Miami, The Order of the Eastern Star and White Shrine of Miami, also a member of the AARP and Senior Citizens. Preceding her in death includes, her parents, husband, a son Bill Morgan in 1994, two brothers Gene and Gerald Carrigan, brothers in-law, Roy and Porter Morgan. The family includes; a son Johnny Morgan and wife Debbie of Miami, a daughter in-law, Jewell Morgan of Vinita, two granddaughters, Shelly Morgan of Broken Arrow, Sherri Callahan of Welch; grandsons, David Morgan of Oklahoma City, John Carl Morgan of Miami, Chad Morgan of Garner, North Carolina, and Brett Morgan of Miami, step granddaughter, Kristin Ritter and step grandson Matt Ritter; three great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter and great-great-grandson; two sisters in-law Valeria Morgan of Welch and Christine Carrigan of Catoosa. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening November 11, 2009 at the Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Vinita. Casket bearers will be; Charles Stoner, Paul Morgan, Wayne Tate, Tommy Callahan, Dave Boyd and Joe Johnson. Honorary bearers will be; V. O., Willie, Melvin and Harold Morgan, Bertha Ruth Powers, Kim and Kacey Carrigan, Ronnie Coats, George Vaughn, Bob Highsmith, Leonard Oyler and Frank Morgan. The funeral service will be held Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Trinity Baptist Church in Vinita, with Pastors Ryan Goodrich and Skip McClain officiating.
