Evelyn Faye Boettger, 94 year old, Grove, Oklahoma resident passed away, Wednesday September 11, 2013 in Grove. Evelyn was born on August 20, 1919 in Rozel, Kansas to James and Jessie (James) Johnson. After high school Evelyn went on to receive her Associates Degree and became a registered nurse. Evelyn married Marvin Baker on October 4, 1941 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and together they built a farm in Burdett, Kansas. She enjoyed being a farmer's wife and enjoyed gardening and canning, as well as cooking and quilting. Evelyn was also an avid fisherman. Marvin preceded Evelyn in death on May 13, 1976. Evelyn married Roland Boettger in January of 1979 in Phoenix, Arizona and they moved to Springfield, Minnesota. Evelyn loved to travel and since they both enjoyed fishing, they went on many trips together including several to Canada. Evelyn was preceded in death by her first husband Marvin Baker, two brothers, James Johnson, and Don Johnson, and two sisters, Dorothy Wilson and Edith Balman. Evelyn is survived by her husband Roland of Springfield, Minnesota, son Lowell Baker and wife Kathy, of Grove, Oklahoma, a daughter Linda Green, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, three grandchildren, Casey Baker, Travis Baker, and Kris Seckman, and one great-grandchild Crawford Baker. A visitation for Evelyn will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Notes of encouragement for the family may be left at www.honoringmemories.com Services are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, Oklahoma.
