Mrs. Evelyn Josephine (Tate) High, age 82, a longtime resident of Bartlesville, died Thursday morning, February 22, 2007. Visitation for Family and Friends will be held at the Neekamp Funeral Home on Sunday evening, February 25, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Funeral Services for Mrs. High will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 26 in the sanctuary of the Oak Park United Methodist Church with Pastor David A. Stewart presiding. Graveside committal rites will be directed at 2:00 PM on the family plot at the Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Parson, KS. with Rev. John Dutton officiating under the direction of the Neekamp - Luginbuel Funeral Home. Mrs. High was born on July 18, 1924 in Barnsdall, OK, the daughter of Charles Douglas and Grace Evelyn (Patton) Tate. She attended Parsons High School and graduated from Parsons Junior College in Parsons, KS. She worked for the MK&T Railroad, where she met and married Milbern Dale High on February 19, 1950. Relocating to Bartlesville, she remained a homemaker and later retired as Office Manager for Dr. Loney. Mrs. High has continued to make her home in Bartlesville in retirement. Mrs. High is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Dianne High of Topeka, KS; Greg and Elaine High of Broken Arrow, OK; three granddaughters, Andrea Jannsch of Broken Arrow, OK, Jessica High of Hallowell, ME, and Kristen High of Lawrence, KS; one grandson, Matthew High of Lawrence, KS; and one great grandson, Carter Jannsch of Broken Arrow, OK. Mrs. High was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother and an infant sister. Mrs. High was very active in her community which included the Oak Park United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, the Red Hat Society and a volunteer at the Tuesday House. In lieu of the usual remembrances, the family requests that those who wish to contribute in Mrs. High's memory do so to the Oak Park United Methodist Church, Memorial Fund, in care of the church office, 601 NW Brentwood Dr, Bartlesville, OK 74003.
