Everett James George of Grove, Oklahoma died at 9:05 p.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008 at his home. He was 92. Everett was born June 22, 1916 in Delaware County, Oklahoma to William L. and Melissa (Kuykendall) George. On December 1, 1936, he married Willie Ernestine George in Fairland, Oklahoma. Everett was a life-long Delaware County resident. Everett was employed by Sanco Lumber in Miami, Oklahoma for a number of years, in addition he was also a self-employed carpenter and farmer. Everett was an accomplished musician who enjoyed bluegrass music and playing his guitar and singing for church services and other functions. He was a charter member of the Hickory Grove Church of God of the Apostolic Faith, north of Grove. Everett was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Willie E. George on April 25, 2001; one son, Burl George; one grandson, Dr. Jay Duffield, three sisters, five brothers and his parents. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Bob Keene, and Marilyn and Jerry Zapponi all of Grove, and Carol and Randy Cook of McAlester, OK; sister-in-law, Maxine Cooper of Grove; brother-in-law, Ross Chenowith of Henderson, NV; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. George will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, July 21, 2008 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove with Jim Hale officiating. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery, north of Grove. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, July 20, 2008 at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
