Luginbuel Funeral Home Vinita, 918-256-5555, Fern Louise Pendley, 91 year old former Vinita resident, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Franciscan Villa in Broken Arrow. She was born on November 18, 1925 in Chouteau to Herman and Edith (Phillips) Shover. Fern was married to Verlin Bob Brunson, Sr., he preceded her in death in 1956. Later, on August 6, 1961 she married Max Pendley a well-known Vinita minister, he preceded her in death on November 2, 1984. Fern worked many years at the Craig General Hospital in Vinita, as a nurse's aide, central aide and later worked part-time assisting the ophthalmologist. Fern was very active in the First Baptist Church in Vinita, where she worked in the Nursery and help provide many dinners for the church families. She moved to Broken Arrow in 2003 and became a member of the Faith Baptist Church. Fern enjoyed going to Gospel singings, taking care of the neighborhood pets, cooking and taking care of people. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, two sisters, Geraldine Frey and Maxine Moore; and a grandson, Todd Hall on April 26, 2016. The family includes; her children, Bob Brunson and wife Teri of Broken Arrow, daughter Linda Smith of Tulsa; step-children, Maxine Hutchison of Grove, Charles Pendley of Dallas, Carolyn Johnson of Tulsa; three grandchildren, eleven step-grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Faith Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, with Pastor Randy Shaddox officiating.
