Fil Evans

Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Grove, OK....918-786-2261....Fil O. Evans, age 85, died peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2014, in Grove, OK. Fil is survived by his sons, Fred (Sheila) Evans, of Lexington, NE, Ted (Mary) Evans of Edmond, OK, John Evans of Cape Coral, FL, and Jim Evans of Sierra Vista, AZ; his sister, Mattie Perry, of Ottawa, KS; and his sister, Alvena (Douglas) MacEwen, of Tampa, FL.; previous wives Marjory Evans of Topeka, KS, Shirley Evans of Topeka, KS; a close personal friend Joyce Carpenter of Grove, OK; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He also had a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. His brother, John Carl Evans, of Topeka, KS; his other brother Alvin Lucas Evans of Theodosia, MO; and his granddaughter Michelle Palmer of Lawrence, KS, precedes him in death. Fil was born on June 28, 1929 in Ottawa, KS, to parents John Lucas and Alvena Marie Evans. He worked as a farmer and truck driver for Dr. Pepper, before becoming a salesman for John Deere implements in Ottawa, KS. After that he continued sales work with Sunshine Biscuit Company, Duncan Foods, then Coca-Cola Foods. He worked primarily around Topeka, KS and the Northeast part of Kansas servicing grocery stores throughout the region. After retiring from Coca-Cola Foods, he moved to Grove, OK. He ran his own transport business. He enjoyed the lake, boating, fishing, golf, and being with family and friends. Due to Fil's wishes to be cremated, only a memorial service will be given by the family. The family would like to thank Joyce Carpenter and neighbors in Grove, OK for their support.
