Flora Faubion

August 18, 1922 — December 17, 2009

Flora Lorene Faubion, 87-year-old Durant resident, passed away Thursday morning at the Medical Center of Southeast Oklahoma in Durant. Mrs. Faubion was born August 18, 1922 in Arcola, Missouri to Ernest and Susie Metcalf. On July 17, 1939, she married Claude Henry Faubion, Sr. in Lamar, Missouri. The two lived in the Alluwe area in the 40's and 50's where they owned and operated the "Bob Lee" store. They moved several times over the years as they followed work in the oil fields. Mrs. Faubion worked as a printer for the Cushing Daily Citizen for several years and also devoted a great deal of her efforts to being a homemaker and mother. She was a member of the New Life Assembly of God in Nowata and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Faubion was also a huge fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. Mrs. Faubion is survived by three sons, Ronald Faubionand his wife Debbie of Durant, Johnnie Faubion and his wife Marie of Eufala, and Jimmie Faubion and his wife Debbie of Whitewright, Texas; by one daughter, Floretta Haggard and her husband Wayne of Oologah; by a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Faubion; and by nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; by one son, Claude Faubion, Jr.; and by twelve siblings.
