Florence Bailey

Florence C. Bailey was born January 10, 1924 in Sibley, Iowa. She was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. F. P. Winkler. She was raised in the community of Sibley where she received her early education. She graduated from the University of South Dakota in 1946 with a Bachelor's degree. Florence and Donald F. Bailey were united in marriage in 1947 and they made their home in Bartlesville. Florence was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bartlesville, having been ordained as an elder in 1982, Class of 1984. She was also a trustee, class of '88, '90', '94, '99 and 2004, and she was previously active in the church as a choir member and Sunday School Superintendent. In addition to her church activities, Florence was a charter member of Chapter DW, P.E.O. Sisterhood; Bartlesville Hillcrest Country Club; and Alpha Phi Sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Bailey; and her daughter, Barbara A. Bailey. She is survived by her son, James K. Bailey and his wife, Sara, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Michael J. Ruble and Nate Hagebusch; and three great grandsons.
