Florence "Flo" Baker Cobb, 92-year-old long-time Bartlesville resident, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008. Funeral services for Mrs. Cobb will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2008 graveside at the White Rose Cemetery. Mrs. Cobb was born in Willard, Missouri on March 15, 1916 to Newton C. Baker and Sallie (Mitchell) Baker. On July 22, 1937 she entered into marriage to Benny Cobb; this year would have completed a benchmark of 72 years of marriage. They lived in the Borger and Phillips, Texas area for 50 years before returning to Bartlesville in 1987. Mrs. Cobb worked for the Phillips Petroleum Company for 33 years at the Philtex Plants in Phillips, Texas. Mrs. Cobb enjoyed spending time with her family and got great joy from playing bingo and going to the casino; she was also a 25 year member of the Eastern Star, Borger, Texas, Chapter 811; and a charter member of the Jane Phillips Sorority in Borger, Texas, Panhandle Chapter and a member of the Women's American Legion in Bartlesville, Auxiliary Unit 0105. Mrs. Cobb was preceded in death by her parents, husband Benny, brother Charles Baker, and sister Lucille Edwards. Mrs. Cobb is survived by one sister, Ada Ewing of Bartlesville; two nieces, Elaine and her husband Dale Dishman of Dewey and Rosalee Stafford of Perkins; one great niece, Angela and her husband Bradley Gilliland of Bartlesville; three step great nieces and nephew, Kristie and her husband Scott Carlson of Skiatook, Kyle and wife Tamara Dishman of Mustang and Kindra Dishman of Morris and a special great-great nephew, Devin Bradley Gilliland of Bartlesville. She is also survived by two nephews, Benny J. Dunkle of Bartlesville and Ronnie and his wife Loretta Dunkle of Wann; two nieces Carolyn and her husband George Workman of Bartlesville and Edda Clopp of Bartlesville; special friends Alan, Shelia, Whitney and Caleb Bates of Borger, Texas.
