Floyd Hays

Floyd "Gabby" Hays, 91, of Bartlesville passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Bartlesville Care Center. Gabby was born February 8, 1920 in Pershing, Oklahoma to George Allen and Delia May (Brown) Hays. He enlisted in the United States Army in August of 1942. He served in World War II and was honorably discharged in June of 1945. Once discharged, he married Miss Ima June Moody on August 2, 1945 in Bartlesville. They made their home in rural Ochelata. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter. Gabby began working for National Zink Corporation in 1945 and retired after 15 years of service in 1960. He was also employed by the City of Bartlesville for several years to dress as Santa Clause for the Christmas parade. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Delia Hays; baby brother, Leo Hays; wife, Ima June Hays and great grandson, Jacob Allen Conner. Gabby is survived his daughter, Judy Conner; grandsons, Danny, Bobby, Loyd and Timmy Conner; 21 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Sunny Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00am-9:00pm and Sunday from 1:00pm-9:00pm at the Arnold Moore Funeral Home.
