Floyd Daniel Wheeler, age 75 of Vinita, died Thursday, December 9, 2010. Floyd was born in Spring Hill, Kansas on January 30, 1935, the son of Virgil and Mamie (Adams) Wheeler. He was a graduate of Ketchum High School and continued his education at 0 S U at Okmulgee where he trained as an electrician. On December 10, 1960 he and Bonnie were married and together they raised three daughters. Floyd worked for several years at Luginbuel Funeral Home at Vinita, then in 1968 he went to American Airlines working until his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed farming, mowing, volunteering, being outdoors, traveling to Branson, and spending time with family. He was an active member at the Otterbein Methodist Church. Survivors include a special friend Kathy Bogle, his daughters: Teresa Lauersdorf and husband Paul of Pensacola, Debbie Wilkins and husband Dean of Claremore, Shelly Lindsey and husband Chip of Pensacola, grandchildren: Leah Shankle, Brittney Wilkins, Teresa Wilkins, McKenna Lindsey, Madison Lindsey, Myleigh Lindsey, great grandchildren Daniel Shankle and David Wilkins, siblings: Ina Rogers and husband Millard of Tulsa, Martha Anderson and husband Sam of Pensacola, baby sister Marie Kar and husband Bob of Houston, TX, John Butler and wife Kathy of Pryor, Paul Butler and wife Mary of Pryor, Tommy Butler and wife Qui of Locust Grove, and Mary Catheryn of Houston, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Bonnie Wheeler (1998). Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 13, 2010 at Otterbein Methodist Church with Mr. Wayne Blackman and Pastor Jim Bradford officiating. Interment will follow at Ghormley Cemetery.
