Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Home - 918-782-4400.... Forrest Gene Garrett, 83 year old Claremore resident, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017. Forrest was born in Pleasant Hill, LA on January 7, 1934 to Travis and Alice (Pruitt) Garrett. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War. On July 20, 1968, he was united in marriage to Sandi Cherry and together raised two daughters. Forrest was a man of many talents. He enjoyed fishing, prospecting for gold, collecting coins, writing poetry and songs, telling stories, and listening to country western music. Survivors include his loving wife Sandi of the home, daughters: Cyndy Garrett and Sonia Hardy both of Claremore, two grandchildren: Sabrina Garrett DuBois and Dylan Stephens, two great grandchildren: Raylin DuBois and Garrett Maximus Elijah DuBois, one sister Gloria L. Johnson of New Boston, TX, and one brother Nolan Garrett of Fort Worth, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Travis Garrett, Jack Garrett, and Lee Garrett. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, July 27, 2017 at the Luginbuel South Grand Lake Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Spavinaw-Strang Cemetery.
