Frances Caroline "Fran" (House) Fargo, 64, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011, after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Born May 16, 1947 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, daughter of Sam House and Edna M. (Sittingdown) House, Fran grew up in Sallisaw, OK, with her eight siblings, and was a graduate of Sallisaw High School. Fran continued her education at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK, while raising a young family. Attaining a Master's degree in Education, Fran devoted much of her life to teaching in the public school system, mostly as a school counselor and special education teacher. Fran began her career in Alaska where she served as a special education coordinator. However, Oklahoma always proved to be home for Fran. Living in the Bartlesville area for over 30 years, Fran taught in several school systems in Oklahoma and Kansas, retiring from her profession in 2009. Fran was a kind-hearted, generous and beautiful woman. She enjoyed: shopping for anything, eating out, collecting various knick knacks and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren and family. Fran's sense of humor and joking were one of a kind and will be deeply missed by her siblings and friends. Fran is survived by: daughter, Robin Trotter and husband Jack of Bartlesville, OK and their children: Derrick and Nate; daughter, Cindy Fargo and her children: Ashley and Riley; siblings: Patricia Cassady, Lena Mae Harrell, Pamela Peterson, Donald House, Brenda Capehart, Linda Wheeland and Kenneth House; one great grandson, Parker Cole; the father of Fran's children, Billy John Fargo, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Fran was preceded in death by: her parents; sister, Loreta Gamble; brother, Thaduse House and an infant sister, Lillie House.
