Frances Kjellander, 64 year old Grove resident died, Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Grand Lake Villa in Grove, Oklahoma. She was born on February 26, 1943 in Lawrence, Kansas to Walter and Zelma Bayless. She married Jon P. Kjellander in 1961 when they were eighteen and have been best friends ever since. Jon is a retired Lt. Commander in the United States Navy and Fran was a dedicated wife and mother always creating a warm and open home. She was a loving lady, proud of her grandchildren and the roses she grew. Fran volunteered at the Lake Point Hospital in Rockwall, Texas for 24 years where she and her mother made Comfort Bears for sick children. She belonged to the Newcomers Club and Red Hat Society and was a great cook. Recently, Jon was able to take her on a cruise before her illness worsened. Jon would like to thank the many friends and family for their support during Frances illness. She was preceded in death by her father Walter Bayless and infant brother Robert Eugene. Fran is survived by her husband Jon Kjellander of Grove; her mother, Zelma Bayless of Bates City, Mo; one son, Mark Kjellander of Texas; two brothers, Walter Bayless of Hawaii and Don Bayless of Bates City, Mo; three grandchildren, Dustin, Erik and Kevin Kjellander; life long friend and sister-in-law Judy David and her husband Arley David of Grove; cousin, Dona Jean Coleman of Bates City, Mo and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2007 between 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove. Funeral services will be held, Friday, August 3, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church in Grove with Dr. Wayne Shaw officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. in the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas. Arrangements are by the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home.
