Benjamin Funeral Service ~ Nowata, Oklahoma.........................Frances Ruth Walker, 82 year old lifelong Nowata resident and business owner passed away Monday, May 25, 2015. She was born September 24, 1932 in Delaware, Oklahoma to Pete and Louella (Crass) Elledge. She attended and graduated from Nowata High School. On December 14, 1950 she married Billy Ray (Bill) Walker, in Nowata, where they lived most of their lives. Frances was an active member of the Living Word Family Church. She worked in the Ideal Restaurant for many years before taking over as the owner. Frances was very well known as the pie lady, and was recognized many times when not in the Nowata area. People would come up to her and ask "aren't you the pie lady?" She loved people and visiting with them. She was the role model for the people person. Frances had a very outgoing personality and would do anything for anyone in need. She held a special place in her heart for her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and many friends. She was able to let each and every one of them know that in their own way they were special to her. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by two sons, Allan Walker and his wife Carline, of Nowata, Mark Walker and his wife Lucy, of Ramona, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Bob Walker and wife Melissa, of Coral Springs, FL, Shelly Gilliam and husband Jarod, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Lee Ann Frakes and husband Todd, of La Feria, Texas, Brian Copeland and wife Stacy, of Bartlesville, Amanda Harper and husband Daren, of Bartlesville, Jim Schober and wife Dalene, Chris Schober and wife Lyndse, Dusty Schober and wife Jessica, all of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Angel Olenberger and husband Eddie, of Bartlesville; twenty three great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Elledge, of Nowata; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives; as well as a host of friends. Preceding Mrs. Walker in death were her parents, Pete and Louella Elledge; her husband Bill Walker; a son Bobby Dean Walker, an infant son, Richard Lee Walker; and one brother Jim Elledge. Services for Frances Walker will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., May 28, 2015, at Living Word Family Church with Pastor Jim Price officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Nowata.
